Rich in flavour and spices, it is best eaten steaming hot. The noodles (also called “Mee”) are perfectly paired with thick gravy (otherwise known as “Lor”), whereby the ultimate culinary wonder is created.
With decades of culinary experience and instinct guiding every part of the preparation, the “Lor” is carefully prepared. Every ingredient is thoughtfully selected. One of the main ingredients of this secret recipe is tapioca starch. Tapioca starch is widely known for being high in iron, improving digestion and promoting cardiovascular health. Special spices are added at ideal amounts, creating the velvety blend of tastes. Duck eggs are also added in to enhance the texture of the Lor.
This dish is complemented with delicate slices of pork meat, fresh bean sprouts, and our specialty: duck eggs. We favour duck eggs over the commonly used chicken eggs. Duck eggs, besides being anti-cancerous and more nutritious, are also prized for their savory taste. The yolk of the eggs is also more aromatic compared to chicken eggs.
The “mee” is made from wheat flour. Each strand of the noodles is formed from the expert kneading and pulling. With skill and experience, the consistency of the “mee” is springy yet soft, thus completing the exquisite taste of Lormee.
